Prepare the driver before repetitive fastening work

Repetitive fastening goes more smoothly when the tools, fasteners and installation information are ready together. Before a crew starts a long run of boards or a sequence of cabinets, use a short setup check to resolve avoidable interruptions.

Match the bit to the exact fastener

Check the drive type and bit size listed for the selected screw. Put the matching bits with the fastener stock and keep replacements available. Inspect the bit and screw recess before use; replace damaged or worn components instead of making them part of the next installation.

Review the product instructions

Bring the current installation instructions to the work area. Confirm any requirements for preparation, pilot holes, tool settings and final seating for the exact product and material. Do not assume the setup from a previous screw family applies to the next one.

Check access before the assembly closes up

Look at the connection from the installer's working position. Note nearby hardware, corners and surfaces that could obstruct the tool. Plan the sequence so that the required fasteners remain accessible when they need to be installed.

Use a representative sample

Where appropriate, review tool access and the visible finish on a sample made from the project materials. Follow the specified installation method and resolve an unexpected result before proceeding across the finished work. A sample check does not replace the product's installation requirements or an approved connection design.

Keep the next box identifiable

Store each product with its original label or a clear project reference. When work changes to another application, recheck the fastener and bit together. This small handoff helps the crew recognize a change in product, finish or installation method.
